Edward Yu is a partner in PwC’s health industries strategy practice, where he leads innovation and business design. His work is focused on business model innovation, market entry and operational design of existing technology-based businesses, as well as new entrants and disruptive innovators in the new health economy. He has more than 30 years of experience helping clients, ranging from Fortune 50 businesses to early-stage companies. His expertise is innovation strategy, product development and operations across the medical device, diagnostics, genomics, therapeutics, payer, provider and high-technology sectors.
Yu’s experience with senior executive coaching and facilitating cross-functional teams has earned him “Best of the Best” president’s awards for thought leadership and superior team performance. He is the co-chair of the PwC 180 Health Forum, and has spoken at many conferences, including the International Product Development Management Association, Rock Health and the Microsoft High-Tech Summit.
Prior to his work in management consulting, Yu served for more than 10 years in engineering program management and manufacturing operations roles in industry. He is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, and Santa Clara University, where he earned a Master of Science in mechanical engineering. Yu lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he enjoys the Silicon Valley experience with his family.
