Tomorrow’s Cloud
The final part of this interview series considers the future of cloud computing? What should companies expect next? How will the technology change down the road? Knowledge@Wharton posed these questions and more to Erik Berggren, vice president of customer results and global research at Success Factors (an SAP company), and Don Huesman, managing director of the Innovation Group at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. The future of cloud computing, according to Berggren, is “very, very bullish” — he expects corporate spending on cloud computing to expand significantly. Huesman, too, is upbeat — he sees the potential for much more activity down the road.

Knowledge@Wharton spoke about these questions and more with Erik Berggren, vice president of customer results and global research at Success Factors (an SAP company), and Don Huesman, managing director of the Innovation Group at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Adoption and Integration
What strategies are companies pursuing to move to cloud computing solutions? And what are the principal barriers they encounter along the way? These were the questions that Knowledge@Wharton posed to Erik Berggren, vice president of customer results and global research at Success Factors (an SAP company), and Don Huesman, managing director of the Innovation Group at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. The major barrier, according to Berggren and Huesman, is fear of losing control on the part of traditional IT departments. Overcoming that fear, however, frees up resources that can be used for innovation.
